I am reading the news from France everyday, and today I read something that makes me angry. Not angry, I don't think I can find a way to express my feelings at this exact moment.
Yesterday, the police found the body of this little 4yo boy called Mathias who had disappeared on saturday, and were worried about this little 5yo girl who had been kidnapped in her house. Today, we learnt that the little boy has been raped and killed, while they found the little girl dead in bag in the bathroom of the principal witness.
I have never been for death punishment in general, but whenever I hear this kind of abuses on kids, I feel an anger inside me... WHAT is more innocent and defenseless than a kid? I do hope they find the murderers really soon, but they can be definitely lucky that I am not making the laws, or even the father of one of these kids, because they can be sure that I would put back in use the torture chambers of the middle age. I am sure I will chill out in few days and regret what I am saying just now, but I really don't feel and don't WANT to find any excuses to these monsters. EVEN their death wouldn't make me feel better. La mort est trop douce...
I know I should be thinking about the families of these kids and, even it sounds useless and pointless, pray for them, but today at this hour, I just feel anger and hatred...Sorry for such a negative post...but I needed to vent.

I too was very touch about this horrific new (and blogged it just like you)... words aren't enough for the disgust I feel for human who would do this to such a helpless child.
I too am anti-death penalty. I would much prefer to see this type of person rotting in prison and getting what's coming to them.
I do agree with you there is nothing more defensless in this world than a child. People who rape should have their rape tools removed (I know I am being a bit strong but rape can ruin a person's life), a pedophile is worse they should go to prison at least for 20 years (and the prisoners themselves would make sure they are tortured, believe me those men there do have children themselves the same about rapists who doesn't have a woman in a family?) murderers I don't know your French expression about sweet death... It would be an easy way to get out, let them live in prison until they die. It's a tragic situation with rapists and pedophiles in the UK too. They serve few years and then they go back to their old ways, that should not be allowed! I do not follow the news, I cannot it makes me sick, and at the moment I feel like I swallowed a tennis ball because I read your article. I can not deal with the cruel reality of this world.
My brother is often saying that we should do what they do to the kids, and have them raped by an elephant...not sure how he came out with such an idea, but that at times can sound appropriate
Good to vent every now and then. That kind of stuff is horrible and its incredible to think that, if there is a God, why He would let such things happen...
I Just don't get it either, there should be something done with these people if there is NO doubt it was them that did it, they should suffer, and I agree with Thomas the old torture chambers of the mideival times should be brought back!!
The problem with them being in prison (well at least here) is that the ones who are really bad, generally are confined and not put in the general prison public (not sure, why as that should be a BIG part of their punishment!! They should have to wear a sign that says their crime,) why we are protecting these people is beyond me.
It angers me so much and I don't understand the purpose, why is it happening?

btw, in chicago, a while back there was guy, a pedophile, who said that when he was released he WOULD attack again, and he was asking the prison and the state for chemical castration...THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW IT, THEY REFUSED! I don't remember what ultimately happened, but I couldn't believe it, they just wanted to continue with the therapy...sick!!

Yeah kim! But I guess something is still wrong somewhere. Anyhow - I'd agree and wish at times the people committing the crimes would get the same punishment they had just done onto their victims... But then again, I like what Carra said, it's interesting and sounds like a nice punishment.
